I’m Pregnant!
Jul
I’m five weeks pregnant! I had a pregnancy test last week after three days of missed period and got a positive result. I took the test after a week to see if it really is a positive one and it still is! I went to my OB for consultation since I was also having a pain and was worried that something might be wrong.
But everything was fine, and it's just a temporary malaise, the site. I was glad that everything went well.My OB Gynecologist then had me took a urinalysis to check for Urinary Tract Infections and an ultrasound. The result of the urinalysis was a bit ok, with some bacteria found so she gave me an antibiotics to be sure that it won’t get worse. About the ultrasound, she saw a sac but it’s still too early to see if there is a heartbeat so I’ll be back after two weeks for another ultrasound.

Picky Eater
Jul
Most kids become picky eater at a certain stage on their age and my daughter is not exempted. My daughter has been a picky eater since she was more than a year old. There are times that she would only eat corn flakes and oatmeal the whole day but not rice. She also doesn’t drink milk anymore. Well sometimes she does but that would be once or twice a week drinking only two small packs of fresh milk. She doesn’t want any formula and I already weaned her so her only source of milk is a once in a while fresh milk.
Her food preference before are vegetables such as beans, radish, potatoes and carrots. But, things changed and she only want radish among the vegetables she eat. For meat, I cannot give her any fish or chicken due to her atopic dermatitis so her only source of protein are either tofu, pork and beef.

Kids with Atopic Dermatitis
Jul
My daughter wasn’t blessed with a smooth skin since she was born. She was just about a month old when she experienced having cradle cap, which is a greasy, yellowish crusts appearing on the scalp and can include a red irritating rash on the face, behind the ears, on the neck and even in the armpits. She had it on her scalp and face.
Her pedia told us to use oil to rub the skin to remove the cradle cap. Good thing it was gone when she was three-month old. But soon after the cradle cap is gone that another skin problem occurred.
Children and Urinary Tract Infection
Jul
Last Wednesday, July 21, 2010 my daughter cried when she peed, I thought something bit her but she told me that it hurts when she peed. That was the first time it hurt so I got worried since I know something is really wrong. I observed first if it will hurt again when she peed but she’s crying even before she pees telling me she doesn’t want to.
I thought it was most like a Urinary Tract Infection. I then searched the internet for the symptoms of UTI and “crying or another indication the urination is painful” is one of those. I then brought her to pediatrician to have her check. The pedia told us to give a urine sample to the hospital’s laboratory for a routine urinalysis. We came back the next day for the results and as my husband and I suspected, it was UTI.
