Council of Islamic Business and Finance Professionals (CIBFP)
The Council of Islamic Business and
Finance Professionals (CIBFP) comprises:
1. Student members of IIIBF (CeIB/ CeIIP/
CeIIA) who have successfully completed Level I and Level II
examinations;
2. Members holding professional
qualifications or university degrees that are deemed to be
"equivalent" to either of the three professional certification
programs of IIIBF; and
3. Members who are industry leaders with
a minimum of ten years of experience in the financial services
industry out of which a minimum of five years of experience must
relate to the Islamic financial services industry.
All members of CIBFP are eligible for
either or all of three awards based on either of the above criteria.
If you are interested to apply for membership and award based on
criteria 2 or 3, you may apply to IIIBF for an assessment of
your profile.
Recognition of Courses/
Qualifications
If you have completed regular programs of study at
professional institutions of higher learning or universities in the
field of Islamic business and finance, you may apply for an
assessment with details of courses completed, competencies
covered in the course. It is possible that IIIBF may grant you a
full or partial waiver of course/units based on the assessment.
It may require you to submit any additional information that it may
deem necessary for the assessment exercise. You need to be a
registered member of IBF Net before
you may apply for an assessment.
Recognition of of Relevant
Professional Experience
If you have a minimum of ten years of relevant work
experience in the financial services industry out of which five or
more years of work experience relate to the Islamic financial
services industry at an executive level, you may be eligible to
apply for an assessment by providing a portfolio of
supporting evidence. A portfolio may include supervisor
testimonials, proof of professional development, work-based
documents and third party reports which demonstrate how your
experience matches the competencies of IIIBF units of study. It may
require you to submit any additional information that it may deem
necessary for the assessment exercise. You need to be a
registered member of IBF Net before
you may apply for an assessment. IIIBF would get back to you
with a decision within 15 working days of receiving your request for
assessment along with complete information. In case of a
positive decision, you would be required to pay US$300.00 (one time)
CIBFP membership fee for either of the three awards. The $100 fee
for registered membership of IBF Net non-refundable.
